Dear Current and Future Customer
I was raised here in San Diego and attended Crawford High School. Graduating in 1973. I attended vocational school for auto repair at Arizona Automotive Institute right after high school. I held a job as a mechanic for over 20 years. I worked in several different sectors of auto repair learning about all aspects of auto repair. I was completely sick of the auto repair industry. It seemed everywhere I worked I found unethical managers or other mechanics who would take advantage of unsuspecting customers. I was very unhappy and felt I was not pursuing a real purpose in life. I actually quit the entire industry and worked at a local jewelry store for the next 12 years learning all about fine watches and jewelry. Fun & interesting work, but not where my heart was.
I finally realized that the only way I could achieve the level of happiness I needed in life was to own my own auto repair business and prove to myself and others that there really could be a repair shop that could provide honest & ethical business practices and be a safe place for customers to bring their cars and refer their friends and family etc.
In 1999 I purchased this auto repair shop and turned it into KEN'S AUTO CENTER INC. And for the next 25 years I have been doing everything I could to provide people who live or work in the Mira Mesa/Miramar/Scripps Ranch area a repair shop they could trust.

Brigetta Norlander, 03/09/2025I don’t leave reviews, but Ken’s Auto went above and beyond. Absolutely a place and people you can trust. Our car was totaled by an uninsured driver. Took a Volvo to Ken’s for a pre-purchase inspection. They did not know me. I was not an established customer. In fact, live out of state. They made time quickly, advised against it, gave me lots of input regarding other potential cars, and when that didn’t work, located a car that did, found a new engine, new tires, etc., got it ready on a time crunch for a cross-state road trip. It handled beautifully. I wish I lived locally so I could continue to take my cars there. Best auto shop experience, hands down. Thank you!
